Melisa Dora is a ceramic artist and author of Lessons with Clay, creating hand-thrown, tactile tableware from her Forest Hill studio in London. Her work combines vibrant and subtle colour palettes with a distinctly handmade character, designed for everyday use. Alongside commissions for leading hospitality clients, Melisa runs a programme of workshops ranging from taster sessions to in-depth 4–6 week courses in wheel throwing and hand building in her studio.

All pieces are high-fired to 1250°C, making them strong, durable, and suitable for commercial use. Each item is dishwasher safe; however, as with any handmade product, careful handling will ensure longevity. To maintain the integrity of the work:

Avoid sudden changes in temperature (thermal shock).

Take care when stacking, as unglazed bases may mark or chip if handled roughly.

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaning products to preserve the glaze surface.

Regular checks are recommended to replace any chipped or damaged items for both safety and presentation.
