Learn how to throw and hand build 4 Plates on the wheel. Teacher: Yasmin Hamouda https://yasminhamouda.com/ This exciting 4 week course (2 hours per session) will guide you through techniques on how to make 2 side plates and 2 dinner plates. We will teach you lots of techniques on how to make the perfect plate to use for every meal! There will be a maximum of 6 students in this class which means you will get lots of guidance throughout! This course is for beginners or students who wish to review techniques. Week 1: You will learn a few basic throwing techniques on the wheel and will practice these throughout this first session. No work will be kept in this session. Week 2: Practise shapes and styles on the wheel for your plates. This week is another practice week. No work will be kept. We will really focus on perfecting your throwing techniques and shapes ready for next week. Week 3 : Throw 2 side plates and learn how to hand build 2 dinner plates. Week 4: Trimming and surface decoration. We will glaze your work for you which is included in the price. You can choose up to 4 glaze colours from a selection of glazes we have in the studio. We will need at least 3 people booked onto this class for it to go ahead. THE PRICE INCLUDES: The price of this lesson includes pre-lesson preparation, tuition, the clay you use and glazes, two separate firings and the additional time it takes to finish your pots (Glazing). As plates require more clay to make and take up more surface area storing, glazing and space in the kiln, the price reflects this. They also take longer to dry and maintain before the firing process begins.
