Lesson Time:

9th October: 10am-12.30pm - 1st lesson

16th October: 10-11.30am- 2nd lesson

Teacher: Melisa Dora

This workshop will outline detailed steps on how to make handthrown plates.

There will only be 3 participants in this lesson making it feel more like a private tuition class as opposed to a large group.

This session is for students who feel confident centering, coning and making cylinders by themselves and who wish to progress into new forms or you may feel like you are stuck in certain areas on the wheel and with a little tuition you will feel more confident. 2 pieces can be kept from this session.  If you would like to keep more, there will be an extra charge as plates take up a lot of space in my kiln.

15-30 minutes before the lesson finishes will be spent looking at your pieces and choosing glaze colours. After your lesson, your work will  glazed and fired which may take up 3-4 weeks to complete.  You will then be able to collect your pieces from my studio.

An email will be sent out to you after booking with more information on what to bring and wear to the session. Most importantly, long nails need to be cut!

Your work will go through two firings.  The first firing will reach 1000 degrees and the second will reach 1240 degrees in my electric kiln.

All materials, tuition, glazes, x2 kiln firings are included within this price.
